Wildlife Damage Control

For control of those pesky sparrows, either in an enclosed area, robbing a bird feeder, or invading bluebird boxes. The wooden sparrow trap looks like any other "birdhouse," but with a twist !

Inside is a spring-loaded door which snaps shut when a sparrow enters the house and lands on a perch positioned below the opening. The door has a flourescent orange sticker affixed to it so you can tell when the door is closed and the sparrow has been caught. This feature allows for the most humane treatment of the bird, as there is a clear indicator when the trap should be checked.

The opening in the trap measures 1.25 inches, which is a perfect size for sparrows. Overall the trap is 9"H x 5"W x 5.5"D. The trap is accessed by pulling a pin located on the side of the box which releases the front of the birdhouse to swivel outward. All pieces are glued and fastened with non-rusting hardware. When you are done removing sparrows, the trigger inside can be easily removed by loosening two mounting screws. Afterwards it can be used as a conventional birdhouse.
